The sights and sounds of the American Revolution came to Upton on Oct. 17 as the Upton Historical Society hosted a Revolutionary War encampment, giving residents an opportunity to experience 18th-century life.Held on the grounds of the Upton History Museum at 2 Main St., the event was designed to bring the nation's founding era to life as communities across the country commemorate the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution.

The program featured reenactors demonstrating authentic military drills and period-accurate encampments. Visitors had the opportunity to speak with historical interpreters about military life, the challenges faced by Revolutionary-era residents and the everyday experiences of people living during the 18th century.

Beyond the military demonstrations, the encampment highlighted the practical skills and activities that shaped daily life during the period. Demonstrations included traditional cider making, copper plate printing presentation, fife and drum musicians. and much more.
