The Greenleaf Garden Club (GGC) recently held their annual meeting at which the 2026-2027 officers were installed. The club celebrated a year of great accomplishments. Outgoing President Judy Thomas stated that GGC had an exceptional year.” The revival of our November fundraiser and the ongoing success of the Spring Plant Sale were supported by the addition of 10 new members.

The new Board consists of Candy Skorupa – President, Mary Vono – Vice President, Sandra Champion – Corresponding Secretary, Sara Vono-Caires – Recording Secretary and Patsy Timmons – Treasurer. The Directors are Judy Thomas, Lisa Sherman and Lisa Williams.

Plans are being made for next year’s exciting horticultural and design programs and workshops. 

The club will continue its special projects including the much-loved Garden Therapy program with the residents of Countryside Healthcare, the very popular Junior Gardeners program at the Youth Center and its civic plantings which enhance areas of town, and municipal buildings.

On Mon., Sept. 21, the first meeting of the year will feature a presentation on the beautiful and beloved David Austin Roses by Mike and Angelina Chute of Rose Solutions. The Greenleaf Garden Club will meet at the Milford Senior Center, 60 North Bow Street, Milford. The talk begins at 7 p.m. and concludes at 8 p.m., with time reserved at the end of the program for questions and answers. This event costs $5 and if you join Greenleaf Garden Club it will be taken off the $30 fee.

This event is open to the public. Whether you are a seasoned gardener, a beginning rose enthusiast, or simply interested in learning more about gardening, we invite you to join us.
