Library adult summer reading program runs through Sept. 4
Library adult summer reading program runs through Sept. 4
The Milford Town Library’s adult summer reading program is going on now through Sept. 4.
This year's theme is "Plant a Seed, Read" and they're gamifying their reading logs to help you have some fun, while exploring food, gardening, and stories that connect us to our local culture and history! Everyone who participates will win a prize, but the more you participate, the more tickets you will earn to put toward our "Plant a Seed, Read" prize drawings. To join in, you can visit the Information Desk to pick up your "Milfordland" Garden Path Log, OR print the sheet from our website, www.milfordtownlibrary.org.
As part of the program, there will be several in-person events for you to enjoy. Check our calendar page for details and to register for:
- Wed., July 15, 6 p.m., Family Nature Walk at Louisa Lake with Author Brad Timm, collaborative event with Youth Services department
- Tues., July 21, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., "Ask a Gardener" with Greenleaf Garden Club
- Aug. 11, 7-8 p.m., local flower arranging workshop with Greenleaf Garden Club
How it works
Much like a real garden path where you can meander or take a direct route, complete the Milfordland Garden Path in the order you choose. Rules for colored squares are on the reverse side of the Milfordland Garden Path board.
Finish four squares of any color to receive your first ticket. By completing the main part of the Garden Path using both Central St. Bridge and Pink Granite Pass, you’ll earn four tickets to distribute amongst whichever prize drawings you choose. By also completing squares 4-7 and/or 21-24 (skipping Central St. Bridge and/or Pink Granite Pass), you will earn bonus tickets (4 per path section, up to 8).
You can present your Milfordland Log at the Information Desk for verification and ticket(s). All Milfordland logs must be submitted prior to our 6 p.m. closing time on Fri., Sept. 4. Prize drawings and winner notification will take place Tues., Sept. 8. Prizes can be picked up at the Information Desk anytime during regular library hours, through Fri., Sept. 18. Prizes not picked up will be awarded to another winner.
