Ana Julia Pereira, who is also a nationally recognized QuestBridge Scholar, was honored for her academic accomplishments and dedication. She received an official citation from Governor Maura Healey, presented during the ceremony by Ambassador Santiago Mourão, Brazilian Consul in Boston. Ana Julia will be continuing her academics at Wesleyan University and studying Biology.

Giovanna Weiner was honored for her exceptional academic achievement, leadership, creativity, service, and commitment to her community. Her distinctions span academics, the arts, athletics, leadership organizations, and community involvement.  Giovanna will be attending Boston University in the Fall, and studying Film and Television in the Kilachand Honors College.

Principal Josh Otlin shared, “Ana Julia and Giovanna are both exceptional students. They have a proven track record over the past four years of extraordinary academic achievement in some of our most difficult courses. But what also makes these two young women so worthy of recognition goes beyond their academics. They are both heavily involved in our community. They devote their time and leadership to different clubs and activities at Milford High School, while still finding the time to excel academically. They are, and will be, outstanding representatives of a Milford High School graduate.”

School Committee Chairperson Michael Aghajanian also presented both Ana Julia and Giovanna with official citations from the Massachusetts House of Representatives on behalf of Representative Brian Murray.

The event also featured a surprise recognition for Assistant Principal Jess Zaleski for her dedication and support of the senior class. Kaleigh Morin, Secretary of the Class of 2026 Student Council, presented Ms. Zaleski with flowers on behalf of the students.

Milford High School congratulates Ana Julia Pereira and Giovanna Weiner and thanks all families, staff, community leaders, and guests who participated in celebrating these remarkable students.
