Reflecting on Success: Intro to AI with Steven Mullahoo

This past term, the halls of Milford High welcomed back a familiar face: Steven Mullahoo, MHS Class of 2011. As the founder of Rainbow Net Labs, Steven returned to his alma mater to lead a groundbreaking "Intro to AI" course aimed at demystifying the world of Artificial Intelligence for the local community.

The response was nothing short of overwhelming. Residents from all walks of life—many of whom had never interacted with a chatbot before—stepped into the classroom to learn how to "unlock the magic" of these new tools. Steven’s background as a former High School Biology teacher proved invaluable, as he translated complex tech-jargon into practical, everyday applications.

What Our Residents Are Saying

"Steve was able to translate a very difficult and constantly evolving subject (AI) into every day uses and made you consider the future challenges and practicality of AI in our society."

"We are all 'newbies' so anything he brought up was valuable."

"I thought the last session in particular was very useful to actually see the back and forth in dealing with AI requests."

Looking Ahead

The success of the AI workshops reinforces our mission at the Milford Community School Use Program: to bridge the gap between innovation and our neighbors. By bringing in local experts like Mullahoo, we ensure that Milford stays ahead of the curve in an ever-changing technological landscape.

Good News! Mullahoo is going to offer a 2-hour workshop on June 16 and June 17 "What is ChatGPT and what can it do?"

The goal of this workshop/presentation is to tell the whole story of ChatGPT: where it comes from, who makes it, and a breakdown of its "growth" since its original public release in 2022. But beyond that, this night is meant to get you thinking much harder about what's happening with ChatGPT today in 2026, and to see just how quickly everything is changing.

Mullahoo will show real examples of their own private use of ChatGPT over the past three years and highlight real things a real human did while working alongside this new form of intelligence. A former teacher and recent host of the "Understanding AI" class here in Milford, Steven Mullahoo is excited to talk to you about the future of technology, jobs, education, and so much more.
