Woodland Elementary School hosts Visual Arts Show
Transforms into 'Glow Gallery' for Immersive Student Art Experience
Milford, Mass. – On Tuesday, April 14, Woodland Elementary School debuted a vibrant, neon-lit immersive exhibit titled "Glow in the Dark." Curated by Visual Arts educators Ms. Lisa Duarte and Ms. Adrienne Delaney, the multisensory event showcased the creative achievements of over 1,000 students in grades 3 through 5.
The "Glow Gallery" seamlessly integrated art and science, utilizing UV-reactive materials and blacklights to bring student-designed neon murals and sculptures to life. The exhibit was thoughtfully designed as an inclusive, sensory-friendly experience, welcoming members of the entire Milford community to engage with the students' work in a unique, luminous environment.
“The ‘Glow in the Dark’ exhibit was about more than just aesthetics; it was about fostering curiosity and providing a platform where every student's contribution could literally shine,” said Ms. Duarte.
The school-wide transformation featured original artwork from every student enrolled at Woodland Elementary, underscoring the school’s commitment to inclusive arts education. This ambitious project was made possible through a generous grant funded by the Milford Cultural Council.
