The Milford Public Schools want to send our appreciation to the Milford Highway Department and their partners for all the work they did getting roads, sidewalks, and parking lots cleared and accessible for our community, students, and staff for the recent big snowstorm. It was a long, cold week for these folks - thank you!

Milford High School

Step right up and secure your ticket to the best night of entertainment this year: the Best Buddies Annual Talent Show and Pageant! Showcasing a variety of special skills and beautiful costumes, you will find yourself transported to the greatest circus there ever was! This event is hosted by our district’s Best Buddies organization and is sure to bring you nothing but joy and inclusivity. Our students are so excited to show you what talents they have been hiding up their sleeves; they’re just waiting for their audience to appear!  If the rumblings are true, their audience will materialize on Thursday, April 9 from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Milford High School auditorium. We hope to see you there for a great show filled with talents, tricks, and surprises! We are currently still looking for donations, baskets, or gift cards to help us raise money for all of our other programming. If you have any questions please reach out to Lexi Forgit ([email protected]), Jenna Smith ([email protected]) or Kailyn Santacroce ([email protected]).

The MHS After Prom Party is ramping up their planning and fundraising in anticipation of this year’s Prom! They need your help! The After Prom Party is a safe, substance free event that takes place at Pinz after the Prom FREE OF CHARGE, open to all seniors and their guests. It’s that time of year again!  The After Prom Party Committee will start Flamingo Flocking soon to raise money to help pay for the After Prom Party.  Starting in March, the flamingo flock will be placed at the home of a different senior each night. When the flock arrives at your home, if you are able to, please scan the QR code to make a donation. All money raised goes directly to paying for the After Prom Party. The flock will be at your home for 24 hours, then WE will move it to another house. Our committee needs volunteers. Please consider attending a meeting. Email [email protected] with any questions.

Woodland Elementary School

Woodland Elementary School is proud to share that Woodland’s student attendance rate (the average percentage of students in attendance each day) has reached 95% for the year and is on the climb. This is a one point improvement from the same time last year. We are happy to celebrate all of our students for making school attendance a priority. At Woodland, we would love to see our end of year rate to be 96.5% or higher! We believe we can reach that goal.

Brookside Elementary School

Great job to Brookside’s Ms. Marissa O'Brien, First Grade Teacher, for contributing to an article for Findcare4kids titled, "Navigating School Support: What Families Should Know From the Classroom."

Memorial Elementary School

Memorial School wants to recognize the outstanding work of their EL Department during this year's ACCESS testing! Mrs. Julie Murphy deserves special recognition for her expert planning and facilitation of the mandated ACCESS assessment for our English Language Learners. Her organizational skills and attention to detail ensured smooth testing for all students. Our MES EL teachers worked tirelessly alongside their students throughout the assessment period, providing support and encouragement every step of the way. Most importantly, we celebrate our EL students who demonstrated remarkable perseverance and persistence in completing this challenging assessment. Your hard work and determination make us proud!

Shining Star Early Childhood Center

Shining Star’s staff spotlight:

•  Ms. Olivia MacIntosh. Olivia is a new staff member and has quickly adjusted to the hustle and bustle of a preschool setting. Friendly and dependable, Ms. MacIntosh is easy to work with, and a welcomed addition to the Shining Star family!

•  Ms. Anna Prevelige. She is incredibly helpful with her colleagues and students. Ms. Prevelige will lend a helping hand, no matter the situation. Her support of others is greatly appreciated and acknowledged!

The Shining Star preschool students enjoyed a humorous afternoon with a performance by the Pumpernickel Puppets, which sparked engagement, imagination, and meaningful connections to storytelling and language development.
