The Milford Community School Use Program has been busy this winter creating new and engaging programs for local residents. Program Coordinator Julie Rabinowitz and Head Program Instructor Gianna Krovocheck have been working together to develop a wide variety of offerings that appeal to community members of all ages.
Adult programs this season have included Guided Paint Night, Make Your Own Doormat, Textured Paint Night, and Wood Sign workshops. For children, the program has hosted Movie Night, Kids Day Out, the Holiday Workshop, Valentine’s Craft Workshop, Unlimited Bead Making, and Slime Factory. Even more new programs are planned to launch this spring.
One of their new children’s programs in particular—Newspaper Club—has quickly become a favorite among participants. The club produces a newspaper written by kids, for kids. Launched in early January for the students at Woodland Elementary School, the first issue is scheduled for release in February, and students are eagerly anticipating its debut.
Club members have been working hard to prepare their newspaper for the printing press. A Community Use newspaper box is also planned for the Woodland library, allowing students and teachers to easily pick up a copy to read and enjoy.
Included below is a sneak peek at some of the articles that will appear in the inaugural issue:
Extra, Extra! Community Use Times Begins
Community Use Times is a newspaper for kids by kids! You should read this newspaper because kids can be very interesting and you can learn a lot from kids. There are all types of articles such as horoscopes, would you rather, movie reviews/ general reviews, sports, etc. BOOYAH! - Lillian Chicarelli
“6-7:” Good or Bad?
Have you heard of 6-7? Do you like it? Well, here at Newspaper Club we are writing about 6-7 and whether or not we like it. Which side do you land on? Read below to hear more about it and the opinions written by Newspaper Club members.
So... yeah. You’ve probably heard of the “6-7” meme. Origin: a song. Next: So there was this basketball player named Lamello Ball who was ironically 6'7" tall. Then this kid named M said 6-7. And then that started it all. Now kids are saying it at school, in math problems or ages. - Nicholas Cresse
You likely heard of the gen alpha meme “6-7” slang”. It might seem harmless at first but it’s the opposite. 6-7 originated in the “Doot Doot” song. People say that I laugh, even though they literally laugh at numbers. Another thing is it means nothing. - Josh Francesconi
Six-Seven is affecting the way we learn and is a constant distraction. It is annoying teachers. - Leah Rafferty
The slang word 6-7 is getting out of hand! 6-7 is so last year. We should leave the 6-7 slang in 2025. Also, now parents and adults are saying it so it is getting annoying and 6-7 is getting cringe! - Lilly Chiccarelli
I think 6-7 is the worst. Three reasons why: 1. because when teachers are trying to teach, all I hear is 6-7, 6-7, 6-7. 2. It’s so 2025. 3. Because my brother got entranced by it and now in my home all I hear is 6-7, 6-7.
- Bree Garland
I think that six seven should be forgotten because it is 2026 and it was made up in 2025. I think 6-7 should be in the past. - Kinley McNeil
I hate 6-7. I’d love for the President of the United States to ban it and whoever says it should go to jail for 8 hours.
- Jesse Lemoine
6-7 studios presents- the facts about 6-7. Booyah! 6-7 is a notification and is banned from school which is not fair. Everybody loves it at school and if you say it you go on time out. I declare that 6-7 must be allowed at school forever! Booyah! 6-7 is a barnacle about schrombereger’s cat. Booyah!
- AJ Gonzalez
I like 6-7 because it is a funny saying and I like to say it over and over and over and over.
- Nolan Murray
6-7 is not bad because it brings kids joy and happiness. It makes them feel like fitting in. It’s most likely that when someone or somebody says it with their friends, they become closer friends by saying 6-7 all the time. - Anastasia Myers
So... What do you think... 6-7, Good or Bad?
