On Jan. 1, at 2:42 a.m., the driver of a truck was caught on camera allegedly doing ‘donuts,’ or intentionally spinning out of control, in the Fino Field parking lot. The incident ended shortly after he crashed into a fence that abuts the Upper Charles Walking Trail. The driver then left the area.

On Jan. 9, the Milford Police Department publicly identified the driver, and posted a video on Facebook @MillisMAPD along with the following information.

“Milford Man Charged With Leaving the Scene of an Accident That Destroyed Bike Path Fence…On January 1, 2026, at approximately 8:00AM, the Milford Parks Department reported heavy damage to the fence along the Fino Field section of the Upper Charles Walking Trail. A review property CCTV footage showed a dark-colored Dodge Ram pick-up truck operating erratically and drifting across the Fino Field parking lot before colliding with the wooden fence. Following the collision, the operator of the vehicle fled the scene without notifying police.

“On January 5, 2026, using a series of law enforcement investigative technology, Milford Police Detectives identified the suspect vehicle as a 2015 Black Dodge Ram owned by Luis Oliveira, 57, of Milford, MA. At approximately 5:00PM, Milford Police Detectives spoke to Patrik Veiga Oliveira, 20, of Milford, MA, who admitted to being the operator of the vehicle involved in the accident.”

“I am proud of the Milford Police Detective Bureau and the hours of investigating it took to bring this case to a conclusion.” Stated Milford Chief of Police Robert Tusino, “This type of careless and reckless operation of a vehicle showed a complete disregard for the safety and property of others.”

Oliveira has been charged with negligent operation of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of property damage, and wanton destruction of property.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
