Found Bookmarks on Display!
Come see Emily’s display of found objects used as bookmarks in 2025, on display in the library display case through January.
We’ve been collecting items found as bookmarks all year. Highlights include greeting cards, shopping lists, popsicle sticks, and yes, even bookmarks!
Children’s & Young Adult Events
Snowman Tealight Craft – Jan. 10, 11 a.m., ages 3+
Drop in anytime from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m. to make our craft. We will use paper cups, battery-operated tealights, and crafting materials to make adorable snowman themed mini lamps!
Pajama Storytime - Jan. 28, 6 p.m., ages 3 to 8
We’re bringing back an evening storytime! Join us several times during the year for a special storytime in your PJs with Mrs. Murphy. Stories, rhymes, songs, and fun!
Adult Events
Chickenkeeping with Lauren Scheurer - Sat. Feb. 28, 1 - 3 p.m., for adults and families
Join us at the Upton Town Library to learn about chickenkeeping from seasoned chickenkeeper Lauren Sheuer! This presentation is packed with helpful information about chicken coops; flocks; training; enrichment; and chicken physiology, health, and first aid. Lauren will answer your chickenkeeping questions and offer reliable resources for your chickenkeeping adventures! This program is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Upton Town Library.
Drum Circle with Dave Curry - Sat. Feb. 7, 7 - 9:30 p.m., ages 8 - Adult
Join facilitator Dave Curry for an evening of freestyle drumming. Instruction and extra drums are provided, but you can also bring your own drums and percussion instruments. No prior experience is necessary, so the circle is suitable for beginners on up to experienced drummers. Registration is requested. Now a monthly program on the first Saturday of each month, sponsored by Friends of the Upton Library.
Tabletop Game Night for Adults – Thursday, Jan. 22, 5:15 - 7:30 p.m.
Join our tabletop game series for adults! Meets every fourth Thursday of the month from 5:15 - 7:30 p.m. The game for January is Castles of Mad King Ludwig. Beginners and experienced players welcome!

Upton Reads Book Group
An eclectic mix of contemporary literary fiction with meetings on the second Tuesday afternoon and Thursday evening of each month, with a remote call-in option.
Tuesday, Feb. 10 at 12:45 p.m., and Thursday, Feb. 12 at 6:45 p.m.
Fic or No Fic Book Group
An adult book group led by Librarian Micaela that alternates fiction and non-fiction selections. Meets on the last Wednesday of each month at 6:45 p.m.
Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 6:45 p.m.: I See You’ve Called in Dead by John Kenney.
Tween Book Club – Jan. 15 at 6:30 p.m.
This club is especially for our middle grade patrons, ages 10 to 14. This group reads popular middle grade titles selected by our members. For our January meeting, we will be discussing the title American As Paneer Pie by Supriya Kelkar.
Kids’ Book Club – Feb. 4 at 4 p.m.
Our book club members explore popular juvenile chapter books on the first Wednesday of each month from 4 - 4:45 p.m. For our January meeting, we will be discussing the title Girls Survive: Ann Fights for Freedom by Nikki Shannon Smith. This group is for ages 7 to 10.
