FUSe news for January
Friends of Upton Seniors seeks members, suggestions
FUSe, Friends of Upton Seniors, is thriving, and has grown from a handful of members to over 60. They also have over 50 people following them on Facebook. They remain committed to its mission: To collaborate with the COA and Elder and Social Services Dept. to fund events and programs that enhance the quality of life for our Seniors.
Coming in the New Year
FUSe is working hard to ensure it can provide funds for the events that so many seniors look forward to, including the Senior Soirée (details coming soon), Summer BBQ and Ice Cream Social, and Holiday Party.
FUSe continues to offer free Gadgets for seniors – to date, they have provided 40 jar openers and 27 carton openers to seniors – and they plan to do periodic outreach events for seniors living at Milhaus and Coach Road.
We need you
There are many benefits to becoming a member of FUSe: All members receive advance notice of events and programs via email; members have many opportunities to volunteer for events and programs; and membership is only $10 annually and supports events and programs for seniors.
The group is exploring new fundraising options, including soliciting donations from local businesses as well as collecting returnable cans and bottles, and welcomes other suggestions and participation. To learn more email [email protected].
Tax-deductible donations can be dropped off in the FUSE Drop Box at the Senior Center or mailed to FUSe, Inc. PO Box 13, Upton, MA 01568.
The next FUSe meeting will be on Feb. 2 at 1 p.m. in the Classroom. All are welcome.
