Anthony “Tony” Mastroianni was recently recognized by the Mendon Council on Aging as Mendon’s oldest resident at 98 years young.

Tony and his late wife, Marjorie, shared an extraordinary 65 years of marriage before her passing three years ago. Together, they raised three children in Milford, where Tony himself was born and raised, before moving to Mendon 27 years ago. He is the proud grandfather of five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A World War II veteran, Tony served an 18-month tour with the U.S. Navy in South America. His dedication to his fellow service members extended long beyond his military service. He served as Italian Veterans Commander in both the Town of Milford and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Tony has also been recognized by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for more than 58 years of devoted service as a Massachusetts Veterans’ Agent, supporting veterans across five area towns. His steadfast commitment to supporting veterans and their families has left a lasting legacy, including his role as mentor to Mendon’s recently retired Veterans’ Agent Robin Fletcher.

The Mendon Council on Aging recognized Tony Mastroianni’s life of service, family devotion, and community impact in their January 2026 newsletter.
