Letter to the Editor:
The Mendon Council on Aging and Senior Center staff extend our heartfelt gratitude to the residents and businesses of Mendon, as well as to the Scouts, for partnering with us to support our neighbors in need. Thanks to your generosity, our food pantry has been replenished as we head into the winter season, and we are truly grateful for your kindness and community spirit.
We offer special recognition to the Upton Bloomer Girls of St. Gabriel’s Church for their recent food drive, and to the students and staff of Henry P. Clough Elementary School, who surpassed their goal by collecting and donating an impressive 517 items.
We would also like to express our appreciation for the dedicated volunteers who make our work possible. Their commitment—sorting donations, checking dates, organizing shelves, shopping for necessities, filling orders, and assisting clients—is essential to serving our community with care and dignity.
Any Mendon resident experiencing food insecurity is encouraged to contact Jenn Talamini, Outreach Coordinator, at 508-478-6175 ext. 123 for confidential assistance.
