Milford, Uxbridge and Douglas Public Libraries host Poet Kris Salvi

Milford Town Library to host Poetry Tour on Aug. 20 

The Shawna E. Shea Memorial Foundation is proud to announce the next stop on its Library Poetry Tour, featuring Worcester-born poet Kris Salvi. This free event, part of the Shawna Foundation’s mission to uplift diverse voices and foster creative expression in community spaces, will take place Aug. 18, 20, and 21 at three different libraries in our area. We welcome everyone to experience the power of the spoken word.

The Library Poetry Tour program will hit the Simon Fairfield Public Library in Douglas on Aug. 18; the Milford Town Library on Aug. 20; and the Uxbridge Free Public Library on Aug. 21 – all readings begin at 6 p.m. and all events are free.

Poet Kris Salvi was born in Worcester and has been in love with the gritty art of filmmaking and poetry ever since. His films and poetry delve deep into the dark heart and soul of the human condition. Salvi grew up in working class neighborhoods and has used his upbringing around seedy and amoral characters to convey his stories of guilt, love, crime, corruption, and despair. Salvi has written a manuscript called “Roses Are Blue,” a compilation of poetry regarding love, violence, and heartbreak. Salvi’s poetry is a unique blend of stream of consciousness and absurdist, bawdy love stories.
