Milford under Stage III mandatory water restriction

Repeat violators will have water service terminated

At press time, the Town of Milford is under a Stage III mandatory water conservation, according to www.milfordma.gov.

A Stage III restriction is also known as a drought advisory, according to www.milfordwater.com. Restrictions are mandatory and subject to termination of water service.

Outside water usage is limited to handheld hose only between the hours of 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. and for no more than one hour.

Customers are prohibited from using lawn sprinklers, irrigation systems, soakers, and unattended hoses. Washing of walkways, driveways, motor vehicles, and filling of pools is also forbidden.

The Milford Water Department monitors for violators and will issue a warning for the first violation. Subsequent violations will result in the termination of water service. Once service has been terminated, the cost of restoring service will be the responsibility of the owner.
