Clean out your closets for Yankee Quilters

Earlier this year, with the help of the Millis Council on Aging & Friends, Yankee Quilters sent 52 quilts and 44 teddy bears to Wrap the World with Quilts. The items were earmarked for victims of the Los Angeles fires. Photo source: Facebook @YankeeQuilters

Yankee Quilters, a nonprofit quilt group active in the MetroWest area, is holding a collection drive for gently used soft-lines and books on Saturday, Sept. 6, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The organization's volunteers will be at their drop-off location - Prime Storage, 302 Hartford Ave., Bellingham - and are also available to pick up donations at your home.

Yankee Quilters helps local cancer patients by donating quilts to Dana Farber, families in need through additional charitable organizations, and people around the world through Wrap the World in Quilts. Volunteers use mostly donated materials to make these quilts, however, funds are needed for batting which is used for warmth. This fundraiser also helps with lectures to improve member skills.

Email the Guild at [email protected] for information on how to drop-off or have your donations picked up.
