JAWS 50th Anniversary Community Movie Night

This summer marks the 50th anniversary of the classic movie Jaws, so we’re celebrating! On Monday, July 21, join us in the library garden for shark themed games and activities before the movie, then we’ll move to the Granite & Quarry room for a showing on the big screen, complete with popcorn and shark-themed snacks!

The movie will start at 6 p.m. with a run time of two hours. No registration is required. Bring your camping chairs, pool floats, picnic blankets, or lawn cushions for extra-special seating.

Jaws is a cultural touchstone with multiple generations discovering the iconic line “ you’re gonna need a bigger boat!” We hope to see lots of families enjoying the experience together.

All ages are welcome, however, youth under the age of 13 must have a caregiver with them.

Center Book Group

The Center Book Group meets next Tuesday, July 17 at 10 a.m. to discuss Jason Rekulak’s thriller The Last one at the Wedding.

Rekulak, author of Hidden Pictures and The Impossible Fortress, introduces readers to Frank Szatowski and his daughter Maggie who’ve re-connected after a three-year rift for her upcoming wedding to the son of a ridiculously wealthy tech mogul.

Frank, a hard-working UPS driver raised Maggie with his sister’s help after Maggie’s mother died when she was ten. The already complicated father daughter dynamic gets more fraught with tension and danger in the days leading to the wedding.

Publisher’s Weekly noted that “Rekulak’s characters feel real, and the unwavering pace will keep readers up all night.”

To reserve a copy of The Last One at the Wedding or to learn more about the Center Book Group, call 508-473-2145 ext. 2.
