Pets of the Month: Meet Snickers and Spice

Snickers, a male tiger, and Spice, a female tortie, arrived at Milford Humane Society in late November when they were only a month old. They were found wandering a neighborhood with their mom Sugar, and a Good Samaritan brought them in out of the cold.

This little family went into a foster home where they were well cared for and adored. Still, Sugar had taught her young kittens to be fearful of people and they took that lesson to heart. The foster family found ways to interact with Snickers and Spice that were less stressful. While they don’t like to be held, they do love to play with people. Fishing rod toys soon became their favorite playthings. They also enjoyed Cat TV, swatting at the fish swimming across screen.

At 8 months old, they are back at the shelter waiting for a patient family to come and take them to their forever home. Without the comfort of a home setting, they are acting more cautious with people again. We believe they will blossom with time and a family to love them for who they are.
