Three Different Annuals to Be Sold before and after Mass
This month, the Ladies’ Annual Plant Sale will take place on May 17 and 18 before and after each Mass at St. Blaise. Each 6-inch pot contains three different annuals.
April was a busy month for the Ladies of St. Anne. With Mother’s Day, graduations and summer entertaining just around the corner, Kim Hughes, a representative of Tastefully Simple, displayed several samples of easy to prepare and delicious foods to make entertaining so much easier.
Also at this meeting, the Ladies hosted a baby shower for Abundant Hope Pregnancy Resource Center. Abundant Hope has been a trusted source of educational, medical and material resources since 2009. Located in Attleboro, Mass., they serve women and families in over 40 surrounding communities with grace, honesty and love. They are the first step for women in an unplanned pregnancy to consider their choices and receive accurate information from Board-certified and licensed medical staff. Grace Small from the Center, spoke of the free support and services offered, including the Diaper Bank which provides baby clothing, diapers and wipes, formula, baby food, blankets, etc. Since Abundant Hope is wholly sustained by the support of the church community and individuals, all donations are most gratefully accepted.
During the business meeting, the Ladies voted to increase the Scholarship amount to $750. The scholarship applications will be available at St. Blaise church and on the parish website. Applicants can be graduating high school seniors or full-time college or technical school students who are working towards a degree and are active participants of St. Blaise parish.
The Ladies assembled 13 Mother’s Day gift baskets with various items, such as spa and bath products, chocolates, wine, snacks, donated by all the Ladies. Raffle tickets for these baskets will be sold before and after each Mass. For $5 you receive seven tickets, $2 for three tickets or $1 for one ticket. All baskets will be on display during weekend Masses. Drawing will be on May 4 following the 10 a.m. Mass.
