Upcoming programs at Mendon Senior Center

Fraud Awareness Workshop

In response to the frightening increase in fraud attempts experienced throughout the area, particularly ones in which Seniors are the targets, Dean Bank has created a 60-minute fraud awareness workshop. This free event will be held on Tuesday, May 23 at 11 a.m. at the Mendon Senior Center. Members of the bank’s Security and Compliance area will go over the many fraud scams currently operating by criminals in our area. He’ll discuss their tactics, their technology and provide insights into why Seniors are targeted so frequently. Valerie Know, Dean Bank’s Mendon Branch Manager will share her experiences as she’s witnessed too many customers about to be defrauded. She’ll talk about warning signs she’s observed and will give Seniors tips to help prevent becoming a victim. Finally, a member of the bank’s Operations Dept. will report on the things that can and more importantly cannot be done to recoup funds from defrauded customers. Please call 508-478-6175 or stop by the Mendon Senior Center to register for this program. Please let us know if you’d like to join us for lunch following the program.
