Letter to the Editor: 

Hello, my name is Sherrie Bates, I am the new Principal Assessor in Mendon and I am excited to be here. I am looking forward to meeting and working with everyone!

Professionally, I have worked in the assessing field for a little over 35 years. I started in the Town of East Bridgewater and worked there as the Assistant Assessor for 33 years before taking a position in the Town of Holliston. 

I hold the designation of Massachusetts Accredited Assessor No. 1324 from the Massachusetts Association of Assessing Officers. Just last year I graduated with my Bachelor of Science degree from Southern New Hampshire University. Much of the coursework for this degree dealt with GIS (Geographical Information System) in creating maps to show various information such as water ways, well sites, location of landfills, etc.

Personally, I am a lifelong resident of East Bridgewater. My husband and I have four children and three grandsons.
