Juveniles charged in recent breaking and entering

Repeated incidents prompt store owner to install metal gate across entrance

The Mendon Police Department has concluded its investigation into two separate breaking and entering incidents targeting the same business in January and February. As a result, the persons responsible, all juveniles from out of town, have been identified and will face charges.

The incidents, which occurred on January 27, 2024 and February 4, 2024, involved unlawful entry into the Mendon Smoke and Vape Shop, located at 15 Uxbridge Road, Mendon, MA 01756. In both instances, the suspects gained unauthorized access to the premises, causing damage and theft.

“Our duty to uphold the law is clear, but so is our responsibility to the well-being and rehabilitation of our youth. While holding them accountable for their actions, we also aim to guide them towards positive change,” stated Chief David Kurczy.

The Mendon Police Department acknowledges the cooperation of all those involved in the investigation. Additionally, the repeated incidents have compelled the store owner to install a steel gate across the entrance to protect his store, highlighting the impact of these criminal acts on local businesses and communities.

The Mendon Police Department remains vigilant in its efforts to uphold the law and protect the well-being of all residents.
