Mendon Senior Center: Upcoming for Nov. & Dec.

Transportation Services
There’s no excuse to stay home! The Mendon Senior Center van is available Monday thru Thursday to provide limited transportation for residents providing that such persons do not have access to any other transportation arrangements. This service allows for trips to medical appointments, local shopping or just coming down to the Senior Center-for an activity or lunch. If you have any mobility issues, the van does include a lift, and our drivers are trained in wheelchair securement.
Please make your ride reservations at least 48 hours in advance by calling the Senior Center, 508-478-6175. Rides are based on availability of the van; medical appointments get highest priority. Ride fees are $1 for local rides and $4 for out-of-town rides. Vanbucks are available, get a 12-punch card for $10. Please ask your van driver. Please call the center for additional information.

Medicare Open Enrollment ends on Dec. 7
Important Reminder! You are probably aware that Medicare Prescription plans and Medicare Advantage (HMO, PPO) plans can change your costs (premiums, deductibles, and copays), covered medications, and provider networks may change from year-to-year. It’s important to review your options EVERY year during open enrollment to make sure you have the plan that works best for you for next year. If you would like to change your plan for 2024, you may do so during the annual Medicare Open Enrollment Period between Oct. 15 and Dec. 7, and the changes will take effect Jan. 1 2024. SHINE counselors can help you to understand changes to your current plan, as well as discuss other options you may have. If you would like to speak with a SHINE counselor about your open enrollment options, contact the Mendon Senior Center at 508-478-6175 to make a SHINE appointment. Mendon SHINE Counselors Chet Twardzicki and Janet Hubener will also be holding a round-table session on Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 1 p.m. Please call the senior center to register.

Tree Trimming and
Sing-along
