OBITUARY

Edward V. Bergmann
Edward V. Bergmann, 70, of Upton, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at the Milford Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. He is the beloved husband of Ann (Brennan) Harris.
Born in Madison, NJ, he was a son of the late Arnold and Alfreda (Jazwinski) Bergmann, and leaves a sister Merrie Bergmann, brother Bruce, as well as daughters, Danica and Kalina, whom he loved more than they will ever know. Edward was a graduate of Madison (NJ) High School and held degrees from Boston University School of Engineering and MIT. Starting in 1974 as a Draper Fellow, he was employed at Draper Laboratory as a systems engineer working on a range of projects including navigation systems for Shuttle missions, A-10 aircraft and, more recently, a variety of defense and commercial products.
A licensed pilot, Ed volunteered with the Civilian Air Patrol. He served for 10 years as EMT/ Reserve Firefighter with Upton Fire/EMS as well as being a valued member of the Fire & EMS Association. An avid fly-fisher, Ed tied his own flies and was editor of the Trout Unlimited Greater Boston Chapter (GBTU) newsletter for over a decade. He was an active member of the Norfolk Trout Club in Norfolk, MA, and the Boylston Shul-Verien in Walpole, MA.
His funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 31, in the Pickering & Son Upton Funeral Home, 45 Main St., Upton. Burial followed in Lakeview Cemetery, Upton.
